When is the Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 3 Event?

Fortnite: Chapter 4 may have been one of the most oddly quiet periods for narrative in Fortnite’s long life since the game’s very earliest days. There isn’t really any throughline story after the bombshell close to Chapter 3 (apart from the re-emergence of Slone), and there also haven’t been any events throughout the course of Chapter 4 to really nudge things along. But that might all be about to change with a Chapter 4 – Season 3 event.

So far, nothing has been officially confirmed for the next event in Fortnite, but the game’s files are suggesting that something is on the horizon. There’s nothing too significant in the files just yet, apart from stuff pertaining to the Apparatus.

We’ve had a glimpse at a strange contraption called the Apparatus on the island, a large telescope that theoretically has the ability to project the future into the sky. Of course, this also ties in with the island being in danger (shocked face), so there’s a chance that this could be tied in with an end of season event. However, there aren’t any really compelling files to hint at an upcoming event like there usually is for a big event in Fortnite, and with nothing really teased or even hinted at so far, there isn’t much chance of Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 3 getting an event at all.

If we do end up hearing about an event in Fortnite, it will likely be in the week before Season 3 ends. With it currently set to end on Friday, August 25th, 2023, the likeliest time we will hear anything about an event — whether that’s through a leak or in-game hint — will be the week commencing on August 21st. If you don’t hear anything about the event around that time, it’s fair to say that Season 3 won’t have an event at all. We will update this when we know for sure.

You’re probably wondering how we’ve had so few events lately in Fortnite. Well, following the constant drama of Chapter 3, it’s difficult to know where the story can go before it all starts getting even more complicated, almost too complicated, for players to keep up with. It seems like Epic has put the lore on the back burner for now to allow newer players to catch up, and maybe even for their writers to come up with some fresh ideas after years of complex Seven shenanigans.

Chapter 5 should bring some new stories to the table, if the current schedule of one new chapter per year is kept to when it comes to Fortnite. The Seven are still out there, it’s probably a question of how much money does Epic want to spend on bringing their starring actors back.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
