While many would say that Blasphemous 2 is closer to a Metroidvania than a Souls-like, it definitely does have a few things in common with the latter. One of these similarities is that it can be strangely difficult to figure out how to do really basic things like upgrade your magic or your health.
However, the good news is that if you’ve made it to the Street of Wakes area, you’re already well on your way in terms of getting your magic bar good and plump. If you head to the room marked on the map below, right near the teleportation mirror and the lady who increases your rosary knots, you’ll find a disembodied hand being worshipped by her group of dedicated followers.
She will ask you to bring her kisses to show your devotion, and regardless of what you think of this strange idol, you should definitely do it. This is because each time you bring her one of the Fervent Kisses that can be found throughout Blasphemous 2, she will upgrade your magic bar. Also, presumably, if you bring her them all, she will open the mysterious locked door behind her (we’re still missing one, so the jury is out on that).
Either way, if you’re looking to use your Prayers more often, particularly with tough enemies like bosses, finding those Fervent Kisses and bringing them to the talking hand is definitely your best bet. Also, remember that magic is recharged by attacking in Blasphemous 2, so if you do run out, you’re only a few swings away from getting another life-saving shot of magic off.
