Resident Alien surprised viewers worldwide when it premiered in 2021. Syfy’s adaptation of Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse’s comic book series gained praise for its hilarious comedy, well-written plot, and of course, Alan Tudyk’s performance. With two seasons under its name, you’re probably looking forward to Resident Alien: Season 3.

Thankfully, Resident Alien was renewed for Season 3 before its second season aired. However, there’s still the question of when it’ll be released and what it’ll be about. To clear up everything, here’s what you should know about Resident Alien: Season 3, including its potential release date and plot.

When Is Resident Alien: Season 3 Being Released?

Currently, there’s no official release date announced for Resident Alien: Season 3. Nonetheless, it’s been confirmed that Season 3 has wrapped up filming and is currently undergoing post-production. Sara Tomko, who plays Asta Twelvetrees, even went on Instagram to tease the upcoming season.

The actress uploaded a selfie captioned: “Sayonara to Season Three from Me and this great, big, beautiful tree. #happywrapday. I am so, so grateful. This season taught me so much. Asta (and Sara) had some real growing pains remedied with so much laughter. It’s our best yet. Just you wait and see. Coming to a living room near you later this year.”

So despite not having a release date, you can expect Resident Alien: Season 3 to come out in late-2023 based on Tomko’s post. If a specific release date is announced, we’ll update this article to let you know right away.

What Will Resident Alien: Season 3 Be About?

Resident Alien: Season 3 will pick up where the second season left off, with Harry teaming up with General McCallister to try and stop the Greys from invading Earth. Chris Sheridan also revealed that you would see more of Joseph Rainier, the Grey alien in disguise, in the next season. It’s also confirmed that Harry’s child, Bridget, will return despite Harry sending him away in the finale. Finally, Sheridan mentioned that even though they won’t move away from the town story, there’ll be more alien content in Season 3.

Regarding Resident Alien: Season 3’s episode count, it’s confirmed that the next season will have eight episodes. Initially, the third season was supposed to have 12 episodes until Syfy announced it was cut to eight. It’s no surprise, considering that Season 2 reportedly dropped in ratings for the second half. This’ll make Resident Alien: Season 3 the shortest season yet, with previous seasons reaching 10 to 16 episodes.

Where Will Resident Alien: Season 3 Be Aired?

Since they own the IP, it’s safe to say that Resident Alien: Season 3 will air on Syfy for U.S. cable users. Assuming it has the same schedule as the previous season, Resident Alien: Season 3 will air on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m.

While waiting, you can watch Resident Alien on Peacock or Syfy.com if you want to catch up with previous seasons. Alternatively, you may purchase individual episodes on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, and YouTube.
