After three long years, Ubisoft is finally back to one of its biggest IPs with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The Brotherhood is back to slaying Templars and protecting free will. This time, the plot will switch to the Golden Age of Baghdad. Speaking of switch, is Assassin’s Creed Mirage even coming to the Nintendo Switch?

The Assassin’s Creed motto is “Nothing is true; everything is permitted.” Maybe it should change to almost everything is permitted because Assassin’s Creed Mirage will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch, at least not on release. The Switch is not listed as a platform for the game on the official Ubisoft page for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Unfortunate, since Mirage will be on every major platform except for the Switch upon release.

Could it come to the Switch sometime in the future? Sure, but it’s sadly unlikely. Only a handful of Assassin’s Creed games are currently on the Switch. Not even their latest entry, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is on the Switch yet.

About Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The game will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character you’ve already seen in a previous game. Basim was a supporting character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be newer, but the events in the game occur before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Mirage will feature a younger Basim. During the time he first encounters the Assassin Brotherhood. The game will show him learning and growing into the badass warrior that he is in Valhalla.

Early in his life, Basim was an orphan in the streets of Baghdad. He developed the skills he needed to be a thief and survive. That is, until he is eventually caught. Fortunately for him, he is saved by a Master Assassin who teaches him about the conflict between Assassins and Templars. Basim joins their cause and eventually becomes a Master Assassin himself.

Along the way, Basim realizes that he’s not normal. Memories from a past life, from an Isu, start surfacing. These memories will change his life more than being an Assassin ever could.

Most Assassin’s Creed games have two aspects to them, the story from the past and the modern story. In this case, the story from the past is about Basim. However, Ubisoft Bordeaux already confirmed that Mirage won’t have modern-day segments. So, you’ll have to wait for future installments to see what’s happening in the present day.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12th, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna. If you pre-ordered the game, you’ll get a bonus quest in the game known as The Forty Thieves.
