Blasphemous 2: How to Defeat Lesmes, Incorrupt Sacristan

Though most of the bosses in Blasphemous 2 aren’t quite as tough to take down as those in the first game, they’re not exactly pushovers either. That’s why you might find yourself struggling over early hurdles like Lesmes, Incorrupt Sacristan. While this hulking brute might seem almost distractingly easy at first, that’s because this is a three-part fight.

With that in mind, you’re going to need to master the first section of the fight, as it will return in the third part. It isn’t all that difficult, either, especially once you get Lesmes’ most common moves down and learn how to exploit them. For instance, Lesmes regularly creates fire pillars, and if you get close to him when he makes one, you can actually strike him the entire time he’s using that move.

He does two different variations of the pillar attack, and you can dodge through both of them if he gets you locked up in a corner or something. The other move you’ll see him doing a lot is one where he turns into a floating head that shoots fireballs at you. Again these can be dodged through or jumped over, and you can still score hits by striking the head during this attack.

Now, we go to round two. Lesmes will drop the weapon he’s been striking you with, and a small child will emerge to attack. Don’t even wait for that, though, as you can attack the box as soon as it hits the ground and take out a big chunk of his little helper’s HP before she even gets an attack in.

As for Sleeping Infanta’s attacks, she mainly uses variations of a spike maneuver. She will either fire her six spikes at you quickly or drag them out a bit to make them more unpredictable to dodge. On top of that, she also has a rush attack that, again, can be pretty easily avoided.

Once you’re done with her, though, things get a bit trickier. Lesmes will come back to life, and so will Sleeping Infanta. They will each have their own individual health bar as well as a combined health bar that they share. You need to empty out the combined health bar in order to win, as simply killing one or the other will lead to them being resurrected.

Still, regardless of which one you hit, you’ll be damaging the combined health bar, so it’s not as bad as it might seem at first. Though this section can be a bit frantic, once you’ve got the first two stages of the fight down, it should start to become pretty manageable.
