As far as iconic Japanese games go, they don’t get much more iconic than Zelda, and they don’t get much bigger in 2023 than The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As only the second Zelda game to feature proper voice acting, players all across the world are going to want to listen to the dialogue in their native language, or even to try it out how it sounds in the game’s native Japan.

To change voice language in TOTK, go to Options from the title screen or by pressing +, then scroll all the way to the bottom until you find the option to change the language.

From here, you can select all manner of different languages, even including two different forms of French. Here’s every language available in TOTK for the European version of the game (other regions may vary):

– Japanese
– English
– French (Canadian)
– French (France)
– German
– Italian
– Russian
– Spanish (Spain)
– Spanish (Latin America)

Simply back out of these settings and whenever you encounter a new cutscene, you should notice that the language has changed. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see an option to change the text language with our version of the game, v1.1.0, but this could change in the future.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Switch.
