In a game where you get killed as much as Blasphemous 2, one of the first things you’re going to be wondering is how to stay alive a little bit longer. Luckily there are several items you can collect throughout this bloody sequel in order to keep The Penitent One going even when things are at their most dire.

As you can see from the picture below, there is an NPC near the City of the Blessed Name in Blasphemous 2 who will improve your health and your bile flasks based on which items you’ve found so far. Just head to where the blood drop is marked on the map. The reason that it’s important to point this out now is that she doesn’t explain that she increases health, bile flask capacity, and bile flask effectiveness when you first meet her. These are options that will become available later.

Once you have managed to obtain either a jagged crystal shard, an abandoned receptacle, or a blood-stained chalice, you’re going to want to beeline over to this NPC and get your reward as soon as possible. If you’re not sure if you have any, you can check your inventory screen at any time to see what you’ve collected so far.

However, this being a Blasphemous game, you’re going to have to prepare yourself for this angelic being to become hideously transformed as she helps you out. Also note that if she won’t help you yet, you may have to offer a blood sacrifice to her as well, as this is a routine part of getting her to aid you in your quest. Don’t worry, your health will come right back at the next save station.

Anyway, that’s it. Just remember to pop in and see her from time to time when you’re nearby the City of the Blessed Name, or just use the special chant that takes you back to the hub area automatically, no matter where you are. You’ll almost certainly be glad that you did.
